Application
Proper application is crucial for a long lasting press on manicure! This is our guide to applying your nails perfectly.
Follow our tips and tricks to ensure your nails are flawless.
To Sum It Up:
PRE-APPLICATION
The first step to a long lasting manicure starts at the base. Make sure you push your cuticles back with the cuticle stick that you received in your parcel. It's important that there is no cuticle skin left on your nail before application. Now give your cuticles a little lift with your cuticle stick to create a groove between your cuticle and natural nail and the that your press on nail can slide back into.
Cuticle skin is oily, so it will affect the duration of your press on nails. You can also invest in a cuticle remover from our shop for a more thorough and easier removal.
APPLICATION
Now for the FUN part!
The second and likely the most important step in the application process is filing your nail bed. Make sure to file all over your nail bed and most importantly around the sides so that the press on nails do not peel off. Press on nails will not stick well to a smooth surface, so make sure you rough it up! Use the small file in your prep kit to roughen up the back area underneath your press-on where it will meet your nail bed as well. Go to the shop and search for the pumice nail file which will make it easier to file the nail and press on nails. Can also be used to file of the excess glue and reuse the press on nails.
Hydration?
Glue does not stick to oily surfaces well either, so make sure that you use the alcohol wipe provided to wipe both your nail and the press-on to get rid of any moisture. Having a dry surface is critical for application!
Grab your bottle of glue and prick the nozzle open with a needle or anything sharp. Make sure to coat your entire nail bed with a good amount of glue.
Place the press on nail down near your cuticle at a 30* angle and slide it back into the groove between your cuticle and nail bed. Once you've stuck your press-on nail on, make sure to hold and squeeze the nail onto your natural nail for at least 30 seconds or more. Releasing the nail too soon will create air bubbles in the glue which could result in your press-on peeling off.
POST-APPLICATION
For at least an hour after application, avoid getting your nails wet as well as applying too much pressure on your new nails. The glue is not completely dry during this stage and can still be affected!
